Project Type: Entertainment & Restaurants

Lucky Strike Lanes
Philadelphia, PA
Client: Carlyle Development Group, Inc.

The Woolworth Building in Center City Philadelphia was being renovated, and plans called for a 12-lane bowling alley and restaurant/bar facility on the Second and Third Floors. Offices occupy the floors above the bowling alley, while retail spaces are below.

Metropolitan Acoustics designed acoustical recommendations to reduce the build-up of sound and vibration associated with bowling operations and to control sound transmission to adjacent buildings, between floors, through wall penetrations, and through loudspeaker mounts.

Additionally, we modeled and designed recommendations to improve the acoustics of the dining and entertainment areas. The architectural design plans also included a Roof Terrace. Metropolitan Acoustics provided consultation to address sound transmission from the roof of the building to adjacent properties for conformance with the City of Philadelphia Noise Ordinance.
