SteelStacks Wins AIA Award

The Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was the recipient of the 2015 AIA Small Project Award.  It was honored during the AIA National Convention and Design Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 14, 2015.

The pavilion design salutes the industrial past of the city with the towering, but silent blast furnaces as a dramatic backdrop in this cultural hub in Bethlehem and focal point in the Steel Stacks Arts and Cultural Campus.

Metropolitan Acoustics worked with WRT to design the shape and finishes of the pavilion so that it has optimal acoustics, both for amplified and non-amplified groups.  We also provided designs for the lighting and rigging systems as well as the performance audio and video systems.

This project also received the Urban Land Institute Award in 2014 and was a subject of one of our newsletters titled “Outdoor Music Venues”.

Congratulations to WRT Architects and the entire design team.
