Fairfield Inn & Suites Hotel in Philadelphia has just been shortlisted for the International Hotel & Property Design Award: Hotel Under 200 Rooms.
Formerly the Parker Spruce Hotel and built in 1925, Marriott re-opened the boutique-style hotel under their Fairfield brand in summer of 2018 to rave reviews for the sleek contemporary décor in an art deco building. Some original features remain – such as the bronze mailbox and marble lobby floors. If you would like to learn more about the history of the building or about the details on the new hotel, check out this Philly Curbed article here.
Metropolitan Acoustics was on the design team for this renovation. Our scope of work included designing the interior and exterior sound isolation so that the appropriate acoustical performance criteria was achieved in guest rooms and communal spaces, as well as provided recommendations for the mechanical system noise/vibration control throughout the building. We are excited to see the continued development of the neighborhood and the growth the new Fairfield Inn & Suites Hotel represents.
Last year, The Inn at Swarthmore won the International Hotel & Property Design Award in the under 50 rooms category, which was another project that we were a part of the design team.
