University of The Arts – Recording Studios

The University of the Arts (UArts) recently celebrated the opening of a new recording studio on the 11th floor of Terra Hall.  Officially named The Laurie Wagman Recording Studios in honor of Trustee and benefactor Laurie Wagman, the studio offers School of Music students new recording studios, rehearsal rooms, classrooms and production spaces.  Click here to learn more about the new studio.

Metropolitan Acoustics was on the design team for the renovation of floor 11 which included this state-of-the art space.  Our services included sound and vibration isolation between the studio and adjacent spaces on the 11th floor as well as the floors above and below in Terra Hall.  We also provided interior room acoustics and mechanical system noise and vibration control for the studio spaces.

Metropolitan Acoustics has provided services for additional UArts spaces within Terra Hall.  Another of our projects was the renovation of the Caplan Center for Performing Arts which occupies the 16th and 17th floors of Terra Hall.

Terra Hall is one of 10 buildings for the UArts campus which is located on the vibrant Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia, the heart of the cultural district in Center City.  Dating back to 1870, it is one of the oldest schools of music or art in the United States and offers graduate and undergraduate academic programs in numerous disciplines.
