One of our projects – Silverman Hall at the University of Pennsylvania – was awarded in the Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse Built Category at the 2020 AIA Philadelphia Design Awards. Lead by Voith and MacTavish Architects, the project entailed renovation of three lecture halls to enhance the teaching and learning quality for both students and instructors. Metropolitan Acoustics was brought in as the acoustical consultant to evaluate the interior room acoustics and the exterior-to-interior sound isolation for these classrooms.
Historic Silverman Hall was designed by Cope and Stewardson in 1900.
