The renovations at Cocalico HS included updates to the Main Gym and Auditorium. The primary concern in the Main Gym was sound buildup, which was addressed through the implementation of absorptive treatment throughout the perimeter walls. The Auditorium underwent renovations to remove the previous plaster ceiling in order to implement custom ceiling reflector clouds; additionally, acoustical treatment was strategically installed throughout the side and rear walls. The intent of all acoustical treatment was to promote useful reflections to the audience seating areas while simultaneously controlling undesirable echoes throughout. Further, the two rear large group instruction (LGI) areas can be separated from the main auditorium space through the use of operable partitions. Each LGI was analyzed separately to ensure an appropriate acoustical environment was achieved during lectures.
