Sooch brings over 30 years in the fields of acoustics, vibration and music. His expertise in critical sound and vibration isolation for recording and performance spaces, adjacent multi-function spaces, and micro-vibration control has led to hundreds of successful projects. At Metropolitan Acoustics, Sooch heads the remote vibration monitoring and diagnostics department developing proprietary software and ultra-low noise hardware allowing for high resolution monitoring in real time.
He has been an invited lecturer on acoustics at the University of Paris Sud XI (UPS); the Second University of Naples, Italy; The Faculté de Médecine Paris Descartes; and Radio France – National Radio, Paris. He has been a consultant to the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) on applied acoustics for speech in learning environments.
Sooch is an active member of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) and the Audio Engineering Society (AES), having authored nine technical papers on topics ranging from architectural acoustics to noise control and speech intelligibility. He is a voting member on the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Technical Committee E33 on architectural acoustics.
