Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is a service we offer which allows the client to visually review the transmission of vibration via columns, beams, slabs, facades, curtain walls, cantilevers, foundations, footings and pilings.
Using FEA, analysis of single bays, entire floors, and whole buildings is possible dynamically and at any scale. Dynamic analysis can include modal analysis, modal time-history, power-spectral-density (PSD), Ritz and Eigen vectors, and response spectrums.
FEA modeling provides the following benefits for our clients:
- Identify the sources of vibrations (external sources, internal activities, and service machinery)
- Detect structural resonance, mode shapes and amplitude peaks of bays, beams, girders and columns in the design stage
- Determine methods for controlling and limiting the path of vibration
- Integrate isolation strategies during construction rather than as post-construction upgrades
