Project Type: Healthcare & Senior Living
South Philadelphia Community Health and Literacy Center
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Broad and Morris Streets, Philadelphia, PA
Architect: VSBA Planners and Associates
This is truly a groundbreaking project. It represents the first public-private collaboration of its kind in the country, bringing together health and wellness services along with literacy and recreational programming all under one roof. The 96,000 square foot facility includes a pediatric primary care facility, a community health center, a free library, and a recreation center. Deep within the South Philadelphia neighborhood which it now proudly serves, this facility was a true partnership among the many city organizations and departments involved and it will continue to represent that community spirit for many generations to come.
Metropolitan Acoustics provided consultation and design in a number of different areas across our scope of services. We provided comprehensive A/V and sound-masking design services for much of the building, including public address and mass notification systems and GUI-based control systems for staff and conference rooms throughout the building. We also provided sound isolation and acoustics consultation as well as mechanical systems noise and vibration control.
