Stadium West End Zone Building
Villanova University, located in suburban Philadelphia, is home of the Villanova Wildcats athletic teams and the 2016 NCAA Basketball Champions. The new West End Zone building is an addition to the Jake Nevin Field House and provides a dramatic backdrop to the football stadium.
The 3-story building of approximately 40,000 SF includes a Hall of Fame Room, meeting rooms, 100-seat theater for team meetings and film sessions, athletic training/weight rooms, support spaces, a reception area and an outdoor balcony overlooking the Villanova football stadium.
Metropolitan Acoustics designed the room acoustics for the theater, reception room, weight room, and training areas in the building. We also designed wall assemblies around critical areas to ensure proper sound isolation between adjacent spaces. Complete mechanical system noise and vibration control systems were designed throughout the building.
The other part of our scope was the design of the Audio Visual systems for the 100-seat theater, meeting rooms, weight room, and reception room. The crowning jewel is the exterior video screen to be viewed from the athletic field.
